Biography

Jen-I Liao received his Ph.D in Aesthetics at the Université de Paris X-Nanterre and is currently an Assistant Professor of the Graduate Institute of Museum Studies, TNUA. Prior to his teaching position, he had a rich qualification in cultural administration, as he was the director of Centre Culturel de Taïwan à Paris (CCTP), the director of the Juming Museum and the director of the Lanyang Museum. In addition, he also has a great abundance of curatorial experiences, as he continue to write art critics, while also participating in curating a number of art exhibitions at several national and international art museums, including the National Art Museum of China, Beijing; the China Art Museum, Shanghai; and the Hakone Open-Air Museum, Japan.
His research interest mainly focuses on aesthetics, art theory, and the theory and management of art museums. In recent years, he has extended his concern on the preservation of cultural heritage and the theory and practice of cultural tourism.
